Will there be any recalls in the future? #FSIS

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said that during routine product testing of poultry finished products, BrucePac's ready-to-eat chicken was determined to be the source of Listeria. Due to possible Listeria contamination, BrucePac's ready-to-eat meat and poultry products totaled more than 11.7 million pounds of products.#BrucePac #Recall #FSIS

The recalled products were produced between May 31 and October 8 and have been distributed to grocery stores, restaurants, schools and other institutions across the country, including salads, wraps, pasta bowls, burritos, enchiladas and many other ready-to-eat frozen and home-cooked foods. This involves hundreds of products from dozens of well-known brands, including ready-to-eat foods "on store shelves or in consumers' refrigerators or freezers."#BrucePac #Recall #FSIS

Listeria can cause listeriosis, and infection can cause neck stiffness, headaches, mental confusion or seizures. Symptoms may appear soon after consuming contaminated food or may last up to 10 weeks. The infection is particularly dangerous to the elderly, people with weakened immune systems or pregnant women. Since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began investigating in July, 59 people have been hospitalized and 10 have died. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 1,600 people are infected with Listeria in the United States each year, and about 260 people die.#BrucePac #Recall #FSIS

Recently, several recalls have made people remember more than 10 million pounds of meat products, which has made people worry about food safety. In August, Perdue Foods urgently recalled 75 tons of frozen chicken and chicken tenders due to the discovery of metal wire in the food. In September, Wild Boar's Head recalled 7 million pounds of meat due to Listeria contamination. This time, BrucePac recalled more than 11.7 million pounds of products.#BrucePac #Recall #FSIS

Recalls are only an emergency measure to curb the deterioration of the situation, not a substitute for food safety supervision. How much problematic food has been eaten between production and recall, including being resold, repackaged, or using recalled products as ingredients in other foods. Who is responsible for people's food safety, the manufacturer or our regulators, and what will be recalled in the future?#BrucePac #Recall #FSIS
