Food safety with# Vani Hari
Food activist Vani Hari, who has nearly 2 million followers on social media, has started a petition on the website foodbabe. The petition points out that Kelloggs has double standards for products sold in places like the US and Europe. Calling for artificial food colors and preservatives like BHT to be removed from Kelloggs childrens cereals sold in the US (Artificial colors: Derived from petroleum, can cause hyperactivity in children and damage the immune system. Requires European warning label), (Artificial flavors: Chemical mixtures made from synthetic ingredients like crude oil or coal tar. Much cheaper than using real food), (Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT): A dangerous preservative that some animal studies have shown to be an endocrine disruptor that disrupts hormones and has been linked to cancer). #Vani Hari #foodbabe #KelloggsUS #foodsafety
In Europe and Australia, all Kelloggs cereals are free of artificial colors and BHT. Kelloggs specifically sells Froot Loops and Unicorn Cereal without artificial colors or BHT in other countries, so they already have the recipe. We deserve safer cereals, like other countries. These unnecessary and potentially harmful ingredients are not present in Kelloggs cereals sold overseas, so they should not be in our cereals either. The simple fact that you dont use these ingredients elsewhere proves that they are unnecessary. This double standard is reflected in the fact that consumers in Europe and Australia pay more attention to the naturalness and healthiness of foods, while Kelloggs childrens cereals in the United States and some other regions still use these additives. The company must remove artificial colors, artificial flavors and BHT from all cereal foods in North America and around the world. The petition has collected more than 120,000 signatures. Activists plan to hold a rally outside the Kellogg factory in Battle Creek on a specific date (October 15) to further promote this issue. For food safety, I think everyone should actively participate in this rally of their own, for themselves and for their families.
Double standards harm consumer rights and violate the companys commitment to food safety and health; because companies fail to maintain consistent product quality and safety standards globally. She also criticized the double standards of American food companies, the inaction of food regulatory authorities, and similar problems with other foods in the United States. This means that the regulatory authorities are negligent or insufficient in supervising food companies to comply with food safety and health standards. This double standard not only harms the rights of consumers, because consumers may buy the same product of different quality in different regions. The double standard problem of American food companies, the inaction of food regulatory authorities, and the use of additives in Kelloggs childrens cereal.
